My Love is Rough

Poem about maybe loving wrong

Photo by Pawel Czerwinski on Unsplash

I love hard
It has a lot of rough edges
And more blunt force
Than stability

Never gradual
Just a switch
From nothing to everything
In a blink

Too much self sacrifice
Probably not enough softness
Too much devotion
To be thrown around as casually as I do

A list much too long
But I can’t love half way
Some say I’m being used
Always giving more than I get

They aren’t wrong
I do it anyway
Always taught that love was measured
In how much it cost you

So I give it all
Pain and hurt be damned
Its the only part of love
I’m good at
